Air Quality and AC Service by No Problem

Did you know that a cooling system that is damaged, outdated, or running inefficiently can negatively affect your air quality? This can lead to several, potentially harmful situations in your home. Because bad air quality can be so hazardous, it’s important that you know the potential causes and symptoms. Here are some AC problems that may affect air quality and how they can affect you:

AC Problems That May Affect Your Air Quality

  • You have a dirty filter. Your filter is responsible for literally filtering out impurities in your airflow before its delivered and dispersed throughout your home via a central air system. Your air filter should be changed often, every few months is best. This is especially important during periods of extended use, like the summer months. When the filter becomes dirty and clogged with dust, hair, dander, pollen, or any other debris that may make their way in, your air quality can be compromised.
  • Excess water. If your air conditioner is leaking any excess fluid or it has more condensation than usual, it may be harming your indoor air quality. Leftover liquids can leave you with mold or mildew growth. These spores can grow and spread at a rapid rate. If in or around your air system, they can easily be blown into your home.
  • Duct problems. If your duct system is compromised in any way, it’s possible for debris to build up inside. Because your ducts deliver air directly through your vents, whatever may be built up inside will be delivered as well.
  • Loud noises and strange odors. These are signs that your system may be broken or running inefficiently. In an effort to prevent the problem from worsening, you should have a professional fix the problem.
  • Old or inefficient equipment. Any system that is old, outdated, or running inefficiently has the potential to damage the air quality in your home. If your air conditioning system is out of date, you should consider a replacement. Newer technologies are more efficient and will help to keep the air in your home safe and breathable for years to come.

Warning Signs

You may not know immediately that your AC is harming your air quality. If you suspect that your cooling system may be affecting you, it’s important that you call a No Problem professional immediately. Here are some signs to watch out for:

  • Increase in respiratory illnesses
  • Worsened asthma symptoms
  • Increase in allergy symptoms
  • Reduced lung function
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches

Importance of Routine Maintenance

In order to keep your HVAC systems running safely and efficiently, routine maintenance is absolutely necessary. Not only will it save you from expensive repairs down the line, it will help to protect against dangerously low air quality. Symptoms may vary depending on the level of air pollutants present in your home, but you should never ignore the signs – no matter how small they may be.

At the first sign of an issue, call No Problem!

AC emergencies in Missouri by No Problem

Over the course of its life, your AC will likely have a variety of mechanical issues. However, don’t be so quick to call us to fix it! A lot of times, the issue is something extremely easy to fix, like a changed thermostat or a power outage. Other times, these can be actual emergencies that can mean life or death for your AC. Let No Problem tell you about four common AC emergencies in Missouri.

Here are four AC emergencies in Missouri you’ll likely experience:

Screeching noises

Is your AC making more noise than it usually does? AC units are generally pretty quiet, but they can get very noisy when something is wrong. If you’re hearing screeching noises, there are two reasons why that’s happening, and one is much worse than the other. The less serious issue is that the fan belt has become loose. However, it’s possible that the compressor is operating at a high level of pressure. If that’s the case, turn off your AC immediately and call us to repair it.

Blowing warm air

This might be surprising, but your AC shouldn’t be blowing warm air. If it is despite your thermostat being set correctly, then you have a problem. There are a variety of reasons this can be happening. Some of the possible causes include a restriction in the air flow, a lack of electricity to the outside unit, a problem with the compressor/outdoor unit, or a low refrigerant level. You’ll have to call one of our professionals to find the cause.

Burning smell

If there’s ever a burning smell coming from your AC, that’s a sign of a major problem. More often than not, the burning smell is a sign of an electrical problem. Oftentimes something has heated up to the point where it has melted. It’s important to call us as soon as you can so we can take a look. Electrical problems can easily become fires if they go unchecked.

No air

It’s common for an AC in need of repair to not blow any air. There are a wide variety of reasons you’re not getting any air. Sometimes the problem is something as simple as a clogged air filter. However, sometimes the issue can be something far more serious. Before you call us, check over your AC for the more obvious issues. If you still can’t figure out what’s causing your AC problems, call on us to check it out.

Why Should I Buy Central AC in Missouri?

Why Should I Buy Central AC in Missouri?

AC leak? Call No Problem Heating and Cooling tor AC REpair

Summer may be a good while away, but it’s still a good idea to think about your needs for the summer. It might be time to make the jump to central AC. Let No Problem Heating and Cooling tell you why you’ll want to get central AC in Missouri.

Here are some reasons why you should get a central AC in Missouri.

  1. Better efficiency. Central air has made some big jumps in efficiency in recent years. If not managed properly, central air can waste a lot of money on unnecessary cooling. However, there are now all sorts of features like smart thermostats, zoning capabilities, and ductless central AC systems out now. These can all cut back on energy waste, especially when the system is running while no one’s home.
  2. Straightforward maintenance. Central air maintenance is fairly basic. All you need to do is give it an annual inspection from a professional. If you give it regular maintenance, the average central air system can last ten to fifteen years. After that, you’re likely better off getting a new system to avoid costly repairs and to make use of more efficient AC technology.
  3. House-wide cooling. One of the most obvious advantages to a central air system is the fact that it can cool your entire house with one unit. Some people may be able to have adequate cooling with one or two window units. However any more than that and the bills may become too much. If you plan to stay in your current home for several years, central air is likely your best option.
  4. Much quieter. Your average window air conditioner makes a great deal of noise when operating. This can be annoying during the day and make it hard to sleep at night. Central AC units are much quieter in comparison.
  5. More space inside. Instead of being stuck in your window, the central system for your central air is located by the side of your house. This can help you save on space indoors and keep your house looking modern. No more awkward-looking ACs sticking out of your window!

Why should I call No Problem Heating and Cooling to install central AC in Missouri?

Here at No Problem Heating and Cooling, we offer a proven track record of high-quality performance. We’ve won the 2013, 2014, and 2017 Best HVAC Contractor Services Award. The people at No Problem know that it’s a good idea to give your AC a tune-up before the warm weather moves in. That way, you’ll be able to rest easy knowing your AC will survive the summer heat. Here are six reasons you should get an AC tune-up in Chesterfield before the summer arrives.

Benefits of an Early AC Tune-Up in Chesterfield:

Lower electricity bills.

Summers are hot- there’s no way around it. It’s likely that you’ll want to be running your AC most days, but that can create a steep increase in electrical bills. A system with clogged filters and failing parts will need to work harder to do the same work. By tuning up your AC now, you’re increasing its efficiency and lowering your utility bills.

More comfort.

What would you call an AC that can’t keep you cool? A bad one. Summers can be tough even for modern systems. If you want to keep a consistently cool, you’ll want our professionals at No Problem to make sure your AC is running at top performance.

Fewer breakdowns.

If you use your AC system this summer, are you certain that it won’t fail to start up? Do you know for sure that it’ll run smoothly all season? If you’re not sure, give us a call! Our tune-ups come with a complete inspection that can identify problems before they cause a breakdown.

Cheaper repair bills.

In the event that your AC winds up needing repairs, they’ll likely be cheaper if you’ve gotten maintenance beforehand. The reason for that is because our maintenance addresses the more costly problems (like air flow issues and broken parts) during our inspections.

Extended AC lifespan.

If you want your AC system to stay operational for a long time, you’ll want to give it regular maintenance. By routinely checking on your AC and preventing breakdowns, we can help extend your AC’s lifespan by years. Without regular maintenance, the average AC only lasts a few years.

Better air quality.

During the months where you never use your AC, various bits of dust and grime build up in it. When you turn it on, all that nasty junk is going to go into the air, which can hurt your air quality and aggravate those summer allergies. When you call No Problem to give your AC a tune-up, we’ll clean it out, ensuring that your home’s air stays fresh.

4 Air Quality Benefits of Blue UV Light

4 Air Quality Benefits of Blue UV Light

  • HVAC
HVAC cleaning in Missouri by No Problem

Blue UV light has been used to eradicate bacteria for a little over half a century now. Known as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI,) UV light has been harnessed for a variety of sterilization purposes. One of the more mundane uses of UV light is to clean your home’s air supply. By installing a UV light in your HVAC, you can greatly cut down on the amount of contaminants in your home.

Here are four ways blue UV light can help your home’s air quality:

Improved airflow

Ultraviolet-C (UVC) technology has seen usage since the mid-1990s. Back then, UV lamps saw frequent usage as a means to improve a home’s air quality. Nowadays, we can install them inside HVAC units to kill germs that move through the system. This method also carries the benefit of helping avoid exposure to the UV light, which can cause skin and eye conditions. By using UVC, you can prevent microbial growth in various parts of your HVAC system.

Increased energy efficiency

Installing a blue UV light in your HVAC can save around 35% off of your energy bill. The light does this by easing the HVAC’s workload and making it more effective. Of course, HVACs can also become less efficient because of the buildup of dust and other contaminants inside it. Giving your HVAC annual maintenance and cleaning is important in keeping it working effectively.

Disease prevention

Your HVAC’s job is to circulate air throughout your home, but disease can also spread by using the HVAC, as well. Since UV lighting prevents the buildup of organic contaminants on interior HVAC structures, UV lights can do a lot to prevent the spread of disease.

Cost-effective

Adding a UV light to your system is a way of helping it keep itself clean. This makes them very cost-efficient for modern homeowners. However, you’ll want to contact one of our professional technicians before getting them installed. There are a variety of factors that go into the light’s effectiveness, such as the number and intensity of the lights, your home’s temperature and humidity, and how reflective the surrounding surfaces are.

Why choose No Problem to make my HVAC system germ-resistant?

HVAC Maintenance Tips for Your Missouri Home

HVAC Maintenance Tips for Your Missouri Home

  • HVAC
HVAC maintenance by No Problem Heating and Cooling in Missouri

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems are an important part of many residential buildings, including your home. Because it performs a wide variety of tasks to keep your home comfortable, you’ll want to make sure you get regular HVAC maintenance. Failure to keep your HVAC well-maintained can result in increased electrical bills, sweltering summers, and frigid winters.

Benefits of Regular HVAC Maintenance

  • Longer lifespan for your heating and cooling system
  • Increased efficiency
  • Better indoor air quality
  • Lower energy bills
  • Consistent home comfort all year

Here are four tips that can help you extend your HVAC’s lifespan and keep it running strong.

  • Do maintenance before the seasons you’ll start using its heating and/or cooling. Whether your HVAC heats, cools or does both, you’ll want to have preventative maintenance done a season before you’ll really be using it. Is your HVAC primarily used for heating? Schedule maintenance for the fall. Do you use your HVAC to just keep things cool? Add HVAC maintenance to your spring cleaning list. If your HVAC pulls double duty, give it maintenance in both spring and fall.
  • Inspect the air filters once a month. Check and change the filters in your AC, furnace, and/or heat pump often. A dirty filter means your equipment has to work harder to get the same results, increasing your energy bills and putting unnecessary strain on your equipment.
  • Keep the HVAC unit and the area around it clean. You’ll want to regularly clean out any plants and other debris around you condensing unit. In addition, you should take time once a year to clean your vents, registers, evaporator, and condenser coils to keep air circulating efficiently. The U.S. Department of Energy says that “a dirty condenser coil can increase energy consumption by 30%.”
  • Install a programmable thermostat. Programmable thermostats allow you to dictate certain times for the temperature to change. This lets you turn off the heat when no one’s home or you’re sleeping. Careful usage of the thermostat’s settings can reduce your energy costs by around 10%.

Why should I trust No Problem for my heating and cooling needs?

5 Reasons to Tune-up Your Furnace

5 Reasons to Tune-up Your Furnace

  • Heating
no problem heating and cooling technician

As the winter winds down, people all across America will be giving their heaters and furnaces a break as warm weather makes a return. However, just because the weather is warming up doesn’t mean you should forget about your furnace. In fact, some of the best times to get your furnace inspected and tuned-up are during the spring and fall months. A spring tune-up will give your furnace the checkup it needs after a long winter of warming your home, while a fall tune-up will ensure it runs smoothly all winter long.

Here are 5 reasons to have No Problem Heating and Cooling tune-up your furnace today:

  1. Cleaning. Whether you use a furnace or boiler to heat your home, heating systems accumulate dust and other particles throughout their life. All of that debris can negatively affect the efficiency and performance of your furnace. When your furnace is working harder, it can cause a big jump in your utility bills and wear down your furnace’s overall lifespan. When technicians from No Problem give your furnace a tune-up, they’ll make sure to give it a thorough cleaning to prevent such issues.
  2. Less risk of failure. You might not know it, but certain parts of your furnace may have been heavily worn down when winter ended. If you leave your furnace unchecked until you use it next winter, there’s a good chance it’ll break early on when you need it. You don’t want to have your furnace replaced or repaired while you’re in the middle of sub-zero temperatures! Call us to make sure your furnace is able to handle next winter.
  3. Cheaper than a major repair. If you think paying for a tune-up might be too costly, consider this. If your furnace breaks down and needs emergency service, it’s going to cost a lot of money. On the other hand, the preventative maintenance that we perform during a tune-up generally costs much less. Make the smart choice and have us take a look at your furnace.
  4. Safety. In order to produce heat, furnaces have to burn some sort of fuel. This combustion process can cause problems if something is wrong with the furnace. Gasses could leak into the house, carbon monoxide could be released, or your furnace could start a fire. Don’t take a chance with your safety and call No Problem so your furnace won’t be a problem.
  5. Maintain your warranty. If your furnace is under manufacturer warranty, it’s a good idea to have it regularly checked. Many manufacturer warranties state that they will become void if the furnace doesn’t get regular maintained. Having one of our technicians give your furnace a tune-up can uphold your warranty and ensure you’re covered. That way, if something does result in your furnace dying, you can get a refund on it.

Save Cash With Our Holiday Energy Tips!

Save Cash With Our Holiday Energy Tips!

  • HVAC
holiday energy tips in Missouri by No Problem

The holiday season is upon us and many of us are readying their lights, their heat, and their and ovens to celebrate. However, the holidays can be a major contributor to your annual energy bill. Oftentimes, the holidays can be the biggest energy drain for your home. Fortunately, if you’re looking to reduce your spending over the holidays, we’re here to help. We can offer you a variety of holiday energy tips to help you save energy while still being festive. Consider these an early Christmas present from us to you.

Take a look below at our holiday energy tips for you:

More guests, less heating

Having friends and family over is one of the best parts of the holidays. Even better, they can help you reduce your heating bill. When you have lots of people in your home, their body heat can raise your home’s temperature. If you balance this increase out by turning down the thermostat before the company arrives, you can expect to save about 3% off your energy bill for every degree you drop the temperature.

Give green gifts

Does your gift list include appliances or similar electronics? Keep an eye out for appliances with the Energy Star label on them, as they’re generally the most energy-efficient models around. Similarly, consider getting rechargeable batteries instead of normal ones. While they cost more, they last longer and won’t pollute a dump when they first run out of juice.

Cook smarter, not harder

When cooking this holiday season, consider some of these useful tips:

  • Use the smallest appliance necessary, like a microwave or toaster oven, to cook your meals.
  • Cook side dishes along with main courses, such as Christmas ham. Keep in mind the temperature of the oven and how that’ll affect the cooking time for the side dishes.
  • Keep lids on and the oven door closed when cooking. Even short peeks can force your oven to work harder to maintain the proper temperature.

Unplug before vacations

When electrical devices are plugged in, they’ll continue to use small amounts of energy, even when turned off. Unplug electronics like printers, computers, and TVs before you head out on vacation.

Deck the halls with LED lights

You probably like to decorate your Christmas tree and home with lights during the winter. If you don’t have them, consider switching to LED lights. They’re much more energy-efficient, using about 10% of the energy conventional Christmas lights use. Also, they produce much less heat, making them safer to use on a Christmas tree.

8 Signs of Imminent Furnace Failure

8 Signs of Imminent Furnace Failure

  • Heating
furnace failure in Missouri by No Problem

It’s never enjoyable waking up freezing in the middle of the night. However, that can happen if you wind up dealing with a furnace failure. Even if you’ve gotten your furnace a tune-up, some problems have a way of sneaking up on you. Fortunately, the experts at No Problem Heating and Cooling can tell you what behaviors indicate a furnace in need of our services

Here are eight signs that you’ll soon be seeing a furnace failure:

Gas leaks

Having your furnace leaking flammable gas is an extremely dangerous problem. You should turn off the gas supply valve right away if you smell gas. Afterward, call your gas supplier and get them to help you find the problem. In the meantime, stay outside your house and avoid messing with matches or switches. Alternatively, you may be dealing with carbon monoxide, another gas furnaces can leak. It’s an odorless gas, so you have to rely on carbon monoxide detectors or knowing the symptoms to detect it. If there is a carbon monoxide leak, leave the house and call the fire department.

Old age

On average, modern furnaces can last 16 to 20 years old if they’ve been cared for properly. If your furnace is getting this old, you should look for a replacement. You’ll have more time to look for a furnace if yours isn’t broken down yet.

No ignition

Having your furnace be unable to ignite means you won’t be getting any heat. Modern furnaces use either a Hot Surface Ignition system or an Intermittent Pilot system. The first system uses a controlled resistance heating element to heat the gas burner. Meanwhile, the second system uses a high voltage electric spark to ignite the gas pilot with the main burners. This probably won’t matter much to you, as you’ll need a professional’s assistance to fix both of these.

Mechanical problems/loud noises

Wear and tear is a common problem for furnaces and anything else with plenty of mechanical parts. A common sign of mechanical problems is if your furnace is noisier than usual. Many different mechanical problems can cause these noises, so we suggest giving us a call to diagnose the problem.

Higher heating bills

Oftentimes, a furnace that’s not running its best can wind up causing your heating bills to rise. A variety of problems can make your furnace inefficient, which means it’ll use more energy to heat your home. It’s also worth noting that inefficient furnaces tend to die quicker to the heavier workload.

Clogged filters

It’s important to regularly change out and clean your furnace’s filters, as they tend to get dirty quickly. The filters are meant to allow air to cool your furnace while keeping contaminants out. If they get mucked up, it can result in reduced airflow and constant cycling, which is when the furnace turns on and off.

Fluctuating temperatures

At times, your home’s temperature may fluctuate even though the thermostat stays the same. Oftentimes, this is because your furnace is becoming inefficient and can’t evenly regulate your home’s temperature.

Yellow burner flame

If the burner’s flame is yellow or flickering a lot, your furnace may start producing carbon monoxide. Other signs your furnace may produce carbon monoxide include:

*Streaks of soot around the furnace.

*No upward draft in your chimney.

*Excess moisture on walls, windows, and other cold surfaces.

*Excessive rusting on appliance jacks, flue pipes, and other pipe connections.

*Small amounts of water leaking from the base of the chimney, vent, or flue pipe.

*Rust on the part of the vent pipe visible from the outside.

5 Signs You Need A New Furnace Filter

5 Signs You Need A New Furnace Filter

  • Heating
new furnace filter in Missouri by No Problem

When it comes to replacing the filter in your furnace, there’s no exact science to it. Many different factors can change the recommended replacement time. Some of these include owning pets, the manufacturer’s instructions, and how much you run the furnace. Whatever the case may be, it’s always important to change out your filters when needed. However, a big part of changing your filters is to know the signs that your filter needs changing. Here at No Problem, we can help give you some signs that you should watch for.

Here are five signs that you should get a new furnace filter:

Rising energy bills

Dirty and clogged filters can be a major reason your energy bills increase. You might not notice yourself turning up the heat more, but you’ll likely notice the jump in your energy bills. Keeping your filters well-maintained can help you cut 5-15% off of your bills.

Visible grime

If you look at your filter and it looks filthy, that’s a good sign it might need changing soon. Dirty filters are usually gray and usually have some dirt and dust on the filter itself.

Burning smells

When the filters or burner motor in your furnace start to overheat, they can emit a burning smell. To prevent this, furnaces need to have some air flowing through their system. However, it can’t do this if the filter gets clogged and air can’t get through. Getting a new filter for your furnace can help its parts avoid overheating.

Feeling sick

Bad health can be a hard sign to link to your furnace. Especially since you’ll often see allergies and sinus problems as seasons change. However, if your allergies seem worse than usual, you might want to take a look at your furnace’s filter. A compromised filter can result in your home’s air quality dropping.

Every three months

As we mentioned before, there are plenty of factors that determine the best time to change your filter. However, one of the better recommendations is to change it every three months minimum. You might want to change it more when you have it working hard, such as in the middle of winter. That’s fine, and you should fine-tune your filter-changing schedule based on your home’s needs. Our experts can help you determine the best time frame for replacing your filters.

Why call No Problem to work on my furnace?

We offer sales, service, and installation for all of your repair, service or installation needs. Whether it is residential, commercial, or hospitality corporations we do it all.
